He would also like to know where it is coming from. One place to look is the filling sta tions. Now that tetraethyl lead is being restricted, there is an increased use of benzene to obtain the necessary antik nock ratings. It is interesting to note that while OSAH is reducing the per- missable level of Benzene in the work places from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m., they are excluding the filling stations. The last thing they want is a regulation that has great impact on the general public like j another saccharin.* . While you are being concerned about cancer agents, take a look at the benzo pyrene that occurs in oak leaves; polyn . -* uclear components of asphalt; or the tritium oxide -- a natural component of water. All are proven carcinogens. And while you are about it, you should not overlook the many natural components of foodstuffs that appear to be carcinogens by the standards set by the EPA even though some of these products, such as hormones, may be essential to life.
