Laboratory batches were made on the Cowles JlSD and tested for the specified properties. Samples,vcrc plated in the laboratory hot box at 160* for a period of at least on week. After re moval, the samples were tectod for etabillty in drying, flow, gloss and viscosity. The samples were also examined for any tendency to seed. Panels were prepared from the room temperature samples for water immersion end humidity tests. In these tests, standard materials mads with lead catalysed alkyds were used for comparison. Steel panels, primed and unpriced as well as wooden panels were prepared, T.~S'.:in S: Enamel properties such ae viscosity, brushing, drying, * gloss end flow were all standard. Hot box sarnies all retained satisfactory crying, pood flow control and were free of any seeding tendencies.* Viscosities showed seme drop but not serious. There is a tendency for thixotropic type material such as kem-Cio and Kern Velvet to show a drop ir. viscosity in prolonged hot box tests.
