IwWish to recall myself to you. You will probably remember meeting me on the Dye Works more than a year ago, I am still with the du Pont Company attached to The Grasselli Chemical Company in East Chicago, Indiana, At this Plant we have a lead problem. We manufacture Arsenate of Lead which is, as yo u probably know, one of the numerous insecticides. One of our cases who has shown no evidence either clinically or by reduction of Haemoglobin, red blood cells or the presence of stippled cells of having lead absorption has for some weeks been complaining of weakness, and dizziness. The University of Chicago found no evidence of illness and no cause for these symptoms other than the presence of what they termed an abnormal amount of lead in the urine. They used, apparently, the chromate method described in the monograph on lead poisoning. ' I -would like to have you r u n an analysis on a 24 hour specimen and a specimen of feces similar to those,that you made on the men in the Tetra Ethyl operation. I will begin collection of these specimens the end of this week and if you can do this for me I will forward them immediately. Any expense connected with this analysis, of course will be borne by us.
