For a variety of reasons, it was not possible for us to follow these blood lead-levels, and we have no data on the subject for these patients* We are doing as m u c h work as we can on the problem of blood levels in normal individuals a n d in p a t i e n t s w i t h v a r y i n g d e g r e e s of lea d a bsorption, and I hope soon we shall have some useful information on the subject, At present, however, our information is not s u f f i c i e n t l y w i d e to be v e r y useful except in the case of normal individuals, and even there I am not wholly satisfied since there was some possibility, thought indeed quite slight, of c o n t a m i n a t i o n due to the use of ordinary needles in withdrawing the blood* I feel quite certain that our basic data are essentially correct. I would not be entirely certain that an occasional result a little higher than the average m i g h t net-he due to chance c o n t a m i n a t i o n in the c o u r s e of collection of the sample.
