. Call made with E. J. Kleber to discuss arrangements for the spraying samples ye_would collect the next day at a condominium project using 35 in ceiling and wall sprays. George had set us up for the o owing day to take samples from one of their spray rigs at the Kings
Creek condominium development. Wc had our first look at an on-the-'ob

OBJECTIVE
Introductory ca ll. DISCUSSION
_
G eorgia-P acific has developed and patented a resorcinol glu e, GP-117
Resi-Lam, used fo r laminating wooden beams, tru sse s, etc. They feel i t has
very large poten tial. I t i s a two-part system containing about 3-4% RG-244. I t
is machine applied (curtain coated) and 244 contributes to flow control and
i n it ia l tack. The lik e ly production areas for th is product and contact at each
location are as follow s:
1. Lufkin, Texas - Sid Gholson, Area Manager
2. Coos Bay, Oregon - Don Koppa, Lab Manager
3. Albany, Oregon - Joe Dede, Lab Manager
4. Crossett, Arkansas - J. C- Gunnels, Lab Manager
5. Columbus, Ohio - P. H erault, Lab Manager
A ll of these locations should be actively pursued and a ll o f the people lis t e d are aware of th is product. A copy of th e ir disclosure o fth is product and i t s application is attached.
Pete Herault waxed poetic on the virtues of 244 in th is ap p lication and, in fact, sa id i t is the only -thixotrope which they have found to give the desired_combination of e ffe c ts. However, he did say that they are interested in findin g a lower cost material i f possible. Should his estimates fo r la rge -

scale use develop, they would prefer our providing RG-244 in p la in , unmarked bags. We sa id that th is would be fe a sib le a t present only in CL quantities from Kir;; City. However, we did say that we would be w illin g to try to work out an amenable so lu tio n as soon as they can provide accurate usage figures. We also sa id we might package in th e ir bags at s u ffic ie n t ly large volumes.
We le ft a MSO sheet, OSHA regulation and an asbestos fa c t sheet and agreed to send Pete a copy of "The Safe Use of RG-244."
We should be c a llin g not only a t the above lis te d G-P in s t a lla t io n s but other related accounts such as Forest Service Labs, Weyertiauer and wherever sim ila r application seem to e x ist even though the app lications may not be id e n tica l. Some of these other a p p lic a tio n s, for example, seem to involve different concepts such as gap f i l l i n g c a p a b ilitie s and in sta n t bonding. The G-P a p p lication , on the other hand, is la rg e ly a h a ir lin e glue jo in t and some sh ort time in a high-pressure press. The times involved, however, are minutes rather than hours.
