Dear Mr. Schaefer: Thanks very much for your wire and your letters calling my attention to the difficulties which developed at the plant of the California Chemical Corporation. I wired at once requesting further particulars and suggesting that I he kept informed of the turn of events. I received a letter yesterday describing the procedures and telling me more of the condition of the man who was overcome by vapors. Apparently there had b e e n no considerable w o r r y as to the condition of this man and from their description of his symptoms. I take it to be reasonably certain that he did npt inhale any considerable quantity of Tatra-Pithy 1 lead. It would seem to be clear that his difficulty arose from the inhalation of Di-bromide vapors. Any difficulties which would have been expected to take a serious turn, should have occurred before this time. I take it, therefore, that w e will probably have no further difficulty in the matter.
