Roach* - Berlin - Berlin - Oranville - Granville - New York A visit was wade to Xadostrial Insulators on 5/18/67 to inspect a trial job installation using Kaylo 10 STS. The job was installed at PetroTex Corporation on a 90 el and tee connection. All applications were nade using 12" x 1 l/3M Kaylo 10 STS. The following persons were presents 0. Dabney B. Sanford 0. . (Industrial Insulators) Insulation Foreman (Industrial Insult) OCF Granville ocr --ith Division 61 All material used arrived at the job site in excellent condition. No sections were chipped, cracked or broken. The product was nitered for 90 els application. During this operation there appeared to be an excessive amount of dust, however, it was noted that the saw being used was a tree or pruning saw having teeth with exceesive depth. Any above normal amount of dust created and resulting fussy edges was attributed to the type of saw being used. However, the Applicator and Foreman did not consider the dust to be extremely excessive. The niters mere banded in place with 1/2" x .015 S.S. bands using a banding tool. Due to the loftness of the material, the bands anbeddad themselves into the product very nicely so that a good finish could be expected. Only one niter on the fitting partially cracked due to the pressure of the band and the fact that the band was considerably off center. Otherwise, a tight fit resulted. .bring the application of the tee connection, a certain amount of material h*.d to be gouged out, because of the metal fitting design. It was estiaatsd that in this area of the fitting the wall thickness was reduced to V*" The applicator indicated that it was easy to gouge out the material md that the product was easy to work with. te only derogatory comment noted by the applicator was the product is a little soft.
