Screwed End Valves -- Not Fabricated The following lines are furnished with protectors as outlined below: All screwed valves that are regularly or specially air tested. All screwed cast and forged steel valves. Tin plugs for female ends, sizes 4" and smaller. Sheet rubber discs for female ends, sizes larger than 4". Sheet iron bands, half couplings, or regular thread pro tectors (as conditions warrant) for male ends, all sizes. No charge is made for protectors on valves mentioned above. Ammonia Valve*, Flanged Fittings, and Flanges Screwed and flanged ammonia valves, being regularly air tested, are furnished with tin plug, rubber disc, or wooden protectors. Flanged ammonia fittings are furnished with wooden pro tectors. No charge is made for these protectors. Ammonia flanges are not furnished with protectors. Flanged End Valves, Flanged Fittings, and Companion Flanges -- Not Fabricated The following lines are furnished with protectors as outlined below: All flanged valves that are regularly or specially air tested. All flanged cast and forged steel valves. All flanged steel fittings; All steel flanges. Wood protectors for general use and for regular Cranelap faces. Sheet steel plates for export use. Cast steel protectors for special Cranelap faces (male, female, tongue, groove, or ring joint). On the products mentioned above-- (a) No charge is made for the wood protectors. (b) No charge is made for the sheet steel plates on export ship ments. (c) When cast steel protectors are furnished for special Cranelap faces, they are charged extra. However, credit will be allowed for these protectors, if and when returned after having received approval for so doing. Fabricated Piping, Bends, Etc. All fabricated piping and bends are furnished with pro tectors on screwed as well as flanged ends as outlined in the foregoing schedules. No direct extra charges are made for protectors since they are included in the quoted prices on fabricated /obs. However, credit will be allowed on steel and wooden flange protectors, if and when returned to us after having received approval for so doing. Flange Protectors on Regular Lines of Iron or Ferrosteel Valves and Fittings When possible to ship valves and fittings with companion flanges bolted on, or to ship flanges bolted together, there is no need for further protection except that a cardboard will be inserted between the end flanges of valves and fittings and the companion flange. When cast iron or ferrosteel flanged valves and fittings other than as noted on this page are shipped with end flanges protected by wooden flange protectors, an extra charge, per the following schedule, will be made. However, credit will be allowed for these protectors, if and when returned after having received approval for so doing.
