Subject: ASBESTOS FIBER PURCHASES - OUTSIDE VENDORS At long last, I have completed a compilation of raw asbestos purchases from outside vendors. This information was derived from a hodge-podge of various documents, letters, purchase orders and old charts received from Pete Galeta in the Pur chasing Department. t Item 1 is a schedule of fiber purchases by vendor name. These date back to 1953; however, available purchase orders cover only the period 1973-77, so it is not possible to verify the earlier figures. The purchase orders mentioned above have been used to con struct by year charts 2 (Blanket Purchase Orders) and 3 (Purchase Orders). I have set up in my office a new file drawer for asbestos fiber purchases by vendor name and will attempt to obtain from Pete Galeta any purchase records at the end of each year in order to keep our records current. Unfortunately, considering the raw data from which this in formation was compiled, I can not vouch for completeness. P.S. In contrast with the estimate of Galeta of 4 or 5 vendors over the years, I attach as item 4 a list compiled from the above charts indicating that there were at least 36. ; bd Attachments MTC 012362
