The specifications were reviewed and agreed to in a meeting held in Burlington on 1/11/72 with those asterisked on the route list in attendance. The specifications are based on Quality Control* s statistical determination of process capability and Marketing/Technical Service*s review of resin shipped to the market over the past year. The process capability study was based on a treatment of individual test data points rather than lot averages which was the basis of previous treatments. This approach was adop ted to reflect a more realistic and accurate assessment of the process variance. It will be noted that the grade I classification has been re structured by the addition of a grade IS category. As in .the past, grade I resin may be shipped to any account without re strictions. The IS category denoted resin that will be SELEC TED (dispositioned) by Technical Service and/or Marketing for shipment to accounts with special requirements. As it has been done previously, E grade resin also will be dispositioned by Technical Service and/or Marketing. While the grade IS category credits the plant with resin that is saleable as prime grade, it is understood that the target and goal is to achieve a process capability that consistently produces grade I resin. Another significant change in these revised specifications is that individual pallets showing greater than +30 pounds devia tion from the AR901 target addition and/or deviation from the Tridecanol target addition will be grade IS.
