EAT-043-84 <2.<a QUu/rv SUBJECT: Respirator Policy A meeting was held on April 19 to formulate a Bishop plant position on respiratory protection. In attendance were W. H. Meyer, E. A. Thomas, D. G. Pausky, H. W. Hill, E. J. Heinz, D. R. Lehman, D. D. Siemonsma, W. R. Timman and R. B. Regan. In order of support received the follow ing were acceptable Bishop positions: 1. Enforce a no facial hair in the seal area policy for all personnel entering the battery limits of the production units. All but very infrequent visitors would be covered by this restriction (once per year equates to infrequent). This would be your new re quired respirator group and would have to be trained and fit-tested as well as medically certified to wear a respirator. This is the most viable alternative for the all volunteer fire crew. 2. As a less attractive alternative only regular users would be part of the group. Regular users would equate to people who are required to wear respirators for normal routine duties. Currently this includes Paraform, people sampling HCHO in CER, and the fire crew. This is less viable for our all volunteer fire crew; but acceptable to all present. EAT/bjw cc: CCC, Bishop Mr. D. R. Lehman Mr. W. H. Meyer Mr. D. G. Pausky Mr. R. B. Regan Mr. D. D.
