They consist of 14 pages, plus three supplements as follows: Suppl. A - Foulger report on Standardization of Signal Words Suppl. B - Knapp report on a Rating System for the Choice of Signal Words. The LAPI Committee has achieved a highly commendable record in productivity and cooperativeness. At the present time, the major project before the committee is the revision of "Warning Labels." A very heavy responsibility and load have fallen upon about six mem bers of the committee during the last year. It is therefore of the utmost importance that every member of the committee should actively share the load. To that end, your special attention is called to the following items on which your specific cooperation and assistance are needed: 1. Minute I, L-193. Each member agreed to review Part H, "Illustrative Warning labels" and submit recommendations for label re vision to Chairman Fuess. This should be done promptly as the sub committee is scheduled to make a report at the November meeting. You are also asked to make such further comments as you may think desirable concerning Part I, Schedules 1, 2, and 4. 2. Minute m-13a, L-203. Each member is requested to apply the Rating System for Choice of Signal Words to his products and report to Dr. Knapp by October 16 in order that he may have this information for use in preparing a redraft for Chairman Fuess. There is no doubt that this rating system for insecticide labeling is an outstanding contribution. However, it is my personal feeling that It must receive most careful scrutiny and analysis by every member of the committee to be sure that it is truly applicable to different kinds of products. It is apparent from*reservation requests received for the November 15-16 meeting that we will have a full turn-out, and I feel sure this occasion will measure up to the enthusiasm and interest of previous meetings'.
