Ladies and Gentlemen:
In response to USEPA's request for available information regarding the potential threat to human health or the environment from PFOA, we have attached copies of two sets of slides we received from DuPont relating to the preliminary results of its investigation of health effects among its workers at its Washington Works Plant in Wood County, West Virginia, where PFOA has been used since the 1950s. We understand that the first set of slides (Exhibit 1) was used by DuPont in conjunction with a public media presentation to explain the preliminary results and that the second set of slides (Exhibit 2) was used by DuPont in conjunction with a meeting with USEPA the same week to explain the preliminary results.
