At that :time^you mentioned to me that you were writing either to the authors or to the Journal Editor with your comments about the deficiencies which you found in the article. I write to you at this time because our friends in England are in need of help to combat the adverse publicity which the appearance o'f this article has generated. Can you let me have a short statement which I could use to help our friends in England? I have already criticized for them the portions of the article which are in my area of competence (deficiencies_in the analytical techniques used for blood tests). Apparently adverse publicity of this kind is still rare in England and the subject article has created a rather unfavorable climate of opinion among the medical profession and in the public press.
