We have received a Notice of Hearing in connection with a Workmen's Compensation claim where in it is alleged that Harvey Curtis, one of your former employees, has brought a compensation action against the Armstrong Contracting & Supply Company, alleging that in 1959 h e sustained personal injury while working for your company and that later on in 19^3 he was disabled as the result of occupational disease. The Insurance carrier Aetna Casualty & Surety Company has obtained an Order from the Workmen's Compensation Department adding parties defendant to this case. Our company the Standard Accident Insurance Company (now merged with Reliance Insurance Company) carried the Worioasn's Compensation for your company at an earlier time and as a result, they are endeavoring to bring our company as well as several other employers and their insurance companies in on what we call Apportionment Proceedings. It is the contention of the attorneys representing Mr. Harvey Curtis that his poor health and the conditions bringing about his present disability developed in the course of the time that he worked for these various companies. Therefore, at the suggestion of your Mr. R. Kelly in Detroit, I am requesting that you check your records to ascertain what years the employment records reveal that Harvey Curtis worked for you. I would also like to know when you do determine that, what his weekly wage amounted to, and whether or not there was ever any claim reported -2- for injury or sickness in the course of time he worked, for you while we the Standard Accident Insurance Company, now the Reliance Insurance Company, carried the Workmen's Compensation Insurance for your company. This involves a man who is making a claim against a large number of insulation contractors and their insurance carriers.
