Minutes of Safety Review Meeting July 20, 1983
J
The monthly Safety Review Meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Dr. R. F. Stubbeman. The respective chairmen of the various safety committees presented verbal presentations of committee activities with the exceptions of Drs. A. Aguilo and C. B. Hilton, who were not present. Dr. D. 0. Anderson presented highlights of the Compressed Gases Committee for Dr. C. J. Mazac, who was also absent.
Items of general discussion were:
1. L. W. Hartman requested training on asbestos. Due to priority being placed on revisions to the Emergency Plan, training had been postponed. (Tentatively, training scheduled for 7-22-83 at 1:45 p.m.)
2. Dr. J. D. Unruh requested a status report on eyewash covers reported missing during the routine safety shower inspection/test. Preliminary dis cussions have taken place, and will be scheduled after the Emergency Plan revisions.
3. L. W. Hartman discussed reporting of accidents/ injuries at the time of occurrence. CCCTC Administrative Policy F-15 addresses Reporting of Illnesses and Injuries. All injuries must be reported to the nurse and/or safety super visor. Abnormal occurrences should also be reported, in writing, to the safety supervisor.
In light of item 3 above and from informal discussion, attached are copies of Supervisor's Report of Accident for your review. In the future, accidents, nearmisses, and abnormals will be forwarded to this distribution list for inclusion in group safety meetings.
Also attached is a copy of the Chemical Company injury statistics for year-to-date through June. The CCCTC
