For example: 1. The conveyor belts used to transport coal in coal mines are made of PVC. A reduction in coal production would aggrevate the depletion of scarce petroleum reserves. 2. There may be some PVC products used in pollution control systems (e.g. Iiner3 for effluent ponds).
