Drewes was appointed Assistant to the President at the Board of Directors meeting held yesterday. Mr. Drewes joined the Company in 1935, entering the Comptroller's department. Prior to yesterday's appointment, he had served as assistant to the Comptroller and to the Executive Vice President. In January of this year, Mr. Drewes was named secretary of the Metal Sales Committee and was recently appointed a member of the Administrative Committee of the Company's Employees Profit-Sharing Plan. DUNN ADDRESSES BATTERY MEN E. J. Dunn Jr., head of the physics department of the Research Laboratories, delivered a scientific paper on the "Application of Spectroscopy in Storage Battery Oxides" during the May 19-21 meeting of the Battery Manufacturers Assn, in Los Angeles. ALLEN OF PACIFIC COAST BRANCH PASSES ON Homer F. Allen, 59, for the past twenty years credit manager of the southern division of Pacific Coast Branch, died suddenly in Los Angeles on May 21. Mrs. Allen and a son survive. Mr. Allen joined Pacific Coast Branch in 1925. Previously he had been with Carter White Lead Co. in Chicago. MR. AND MRS. CARTER ON EASTERN TRIP Former President F. M.
