EPA compiles and reports ambient air quality monitoring data at www.airnow.gov. Every day the Air Quality Index (AQI) found on the AirNow website tells you how clean or polluted your outdoor air is, along with associated health effects that may be of concern. The AQI translates air quality data into numbers and colors that help people understand when to take action to protect their health.
In addition to current data, the AirNow website compiles archival data, which is organized by city/region.
AirNow also contains a comparison tool called AirCompare, (http ://www3 .epa.gov/aircompare/) that might help you make your decision. Using AirCompare, you can examine air quality in different regions side-by-side.
I hope this information is helpful.

Hi, Enesta. Thank you for answering so quickly.
I'm sorry, I didn't intend for this to be a press inquiry. I was just trying to find some data that I thought was expressly public, based on my past experience. I can download it and analyze it without burdening your staff.
I'm not sure whether there's a story for the paper, but if there is it would be focused on air in South Korea. I was just hoping to have some American PM2.5 data for comparison.
Can you help?
Thanks! ! Matt

Hi there. I'm trying to find hourly PM 2.5 data for Los Angeles, New York City and Houston during calendar year 2016 (roughly 8,700 observations), similar to what the State Department releases for cities in China (http://www.stateair.net/web/hi storical/1/1.htm 1). I found it before for 2015 but I'm having trouble now. Can you help? (This is not a FOIA. I'm just asking for help finding a public-facing search/download interface). Thanks!! Matt
