Whitaker, Research Services, Ponca City Date December 5, 1980 Subject ANALYSIS OF SAMPLE NO, LCVCP-I-80-114, T-2 PIT SOLIDS OBJECT: To analyze the sample by the RCRA procedures and the organic vapor by GCMS. CONCLUSIONS: The attached table contains the data generated by the RCRA procedures. The GCMS data obtained on a head space sample is given in the attached TSR by G. Keen. Jeff Meyers is available for interpretation of the significance of the data reported and its implication to the RCRA regula tions . DISCUSSION: The sample had a disagreeable odor and should be handled in a hood. Several weeks after receipt of this sample, we began the analysis of several other VCM plant wastes, one of which was labeled LCVCM-5 (T-2 pit sludge). This particular sample failed the RCRA flash point specifi cation (flash point = 76F). Were these samples taken from the same pit? If so, this indicates the waste constituents are not very constant, or it could mean that it is simply very difficult to obtain a represen tative sample. J. W.
