Liurphy Dear Dick, This will refer to your circular letter number NYD-275 inquiring about questions on the report of Dr. Machle on the subject of "A Study of the Hazacds of Cleaning Gasoline Storage Tanks". The only questions that occurred to me whil reading the report were the following: Dhat is the relative toxicity of inorganic lead to that of organic lead? I do not quite understand what decomposed lead is. Is it Lead oxide? Hoyi general is the use of litharge or other lead compounds similar to it in treating gasoline? Tihat is the inorganic lead content of such gasolines when they leave the refinery storage? That is the average content, of course.
