The strong feeling at McCord is their customers will not convert to non asbestos replacements in the near future unless forced into it by govern ment regulations. The primary reason for holding back is price. Their customers, however, are looking at non-asbestos products for new applica tions where there is no price to compare to and an asbestos product would normally have been used. 12-56B Non-Asbestos Millboard: McCord has not taken a strong look at this product simply because they are using E-533 where millboard had been used in the past. We did make recom mendations on where the 12-56B could be used to replace old applications as well as new ones and our 12-56B will be tested. Everyone was in agreement that the non-asbestos millboard should definitely be color coded since it does resemble the asbestos in appearance. 12-85 Non-Asbestos: They do have this product in test but are most concerned about the better than two and one-half times difference in price over our E-526.
