Cole of Lead Industries A ssociation has suggested that I write to you requesting your opinion as to the potential hazard to children of tinsel lead foil Christm as tree decorations (icicles). Our company furnishes the lead foil to icicle m anufacturers, who slit and package the m aterial. Several of our custom ers are genuinely apprehensive of the possibility that the governm ent or som e agency thereof m ay declare that these icicles represent a potential hazard to children, and may require a printed warning to that effect on the overwrap of the package. We w ill appreciate your opinion as to the p ossib ility of such action and any other advice you m ay offer relative to the problem outlined above.
