January 24, 2024 The Honorable Doug Burgum Secretary Designee United States Department of the Interior 1849 C Street, NW Washington, DC 20240 Dear Secretary Designee Burgum: On behalf of the Edison Electric Institute's Board of Directors, I am pleased to invite you to address EEI's upcoming Board of Directors and Chief Executive Meeting, which will be held March 5-6, 2025, at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, DC. EEI's member companies--America's investor-owned electric companies--are focused on keeping customer bills as low as possible as we work to deliver the reliable, secure, and resilient clean energy that powers our nation's economy. EEI's Board would appreciate learning more about your priorities for the Department of the Interior and your views on a range of energy-related issues, including permitting and siting and wildfire mitigation. As a planning matter, we anticipate that this would be a 30-minute engagement, ideally on Thursday morning, March 6. If this is not convenient, we are happy to work with your team to identify other options to accommodate your schedule. EEI's Board meetings are invitation-only and are closed to the media. We expect more than 250 senior executives from our industry will attend, including about 50 CEOs from EEI's Board. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or ask your team to contact Eric Grey, EEI Vice President of Government Relations, at 202-680-0594 or egrey@eei.org. We look forward to your favorable reply. Sincerely, Pat Vincent-Collawn Interim President and CEO Edison Electric Institute Sierra Club v.
