Sanborn visited the Wachtman Schroeder Oil Company oil production facility located in the Latitude: 36.785178, Longitude: -96.268198 near Pawhuska, on August 13, 2018. No representative of Wachtman Schroeder Oil Company was present for the inspection. The inspection was conducted by authority of the Clean Water Act to determine compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. FACILITY DESCRIPTION The facility is known as the Whitetail Stuart Lease. I spoke with Mr. Wachtman about my concerns during the inspection. Section II - OBSERVATIONS With a calibrated YSI Pro 30 Conductivity Meter, I observed a Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of 25,000 mg/L in the nearby creek at the previously identified point of entry from an inspection conducted on 08/02/2018. There was a temporary dam built downstream from the point of entry to prevent further pollutants from flowing downstream. I observed two truckloads of water being used to flush the creek area, and the flushing did not appear to reach the dam. I observed 7,000 mg/L TDS in the creek between the dam and the entry point. Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN The flow path and creek still have brine contamination occurring that continues to reach the creek. Section IV - FOLLOW UP Conduct a follow up inspection as needed.
