HLKASE AUUKKS.'i AI.L COMMI'NICATIONS TO THE COMPANY An a c o n d a Le a d Pr o d u c t s Co mp a n y Ea s t Ch ic a g o ,In d ia n a uny isth, 1926 Hr. A. B. Young, Assistant Uanager, International Smelting Company, Hoorn 613, Kearns Eldg., Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Hr. Young:- In accord with your recant request, the attached, tabulated data shows the white lead plant production, shipments and stocks on hand for each month from the beginning of 1923 to Harsh, 1326, Inclusive. You will note that the tonnages shewn have been calculated to a metallic lead basis. The red figure shown as 627.1 tons of shipments in December, 1923, is an adjustment figure from past white lead plant contracts and net an actual change in the stock. I think for your purpose you may neglect the effect of this correction,-- the stock on hand each month being the essential information. The amount shown as shipments represents actual shipments of white lead to the ultimate consumer, whether from the Sast Chicago plant direct or from agency stccks. The stock of white lead on hand, therefore., Includes any white lead on hand at Sast Chisago or Hammond Warehouse as well as various agency stccks distributed at various consuming centers. It is our understanding that the stock shown on hand in this tabulation, therefore, represents the actual amount of white lead unsold at these various periods. I have mentioned to lir. Brooks the situation with reference to lead purchases by the Anaconda Lead Products Company, and it appears to both of us that the ultimate solution lies in coordinating the purchases of lead to coincide with the sales of lead, arrangements for which are new In effect. Ur. Brooks also mentioned that the adjustment now used on unsold stock would probably be continued as a matter of precedent, but 1 believe that ultimately we can arrive at the correct basis for this situation. I shall be pleased to hear frem you further in connection with the problem, and trust that your trip Test was a pleasant one. 7,'ith best regards to Ur. 31ton, yourself and ether members of the Staff, I am. 3noi.
