It is essential to one's attitude to his work,and to its future, to know what was achieved by it, and wherein it failed, if it did, to measure up to expectations. I have had no difficulty in this matter with Ethyl Corporation for I have had the "senior privilege" that has enabled me, even as a consultant (since my retirement as Medical Director in 1958), to make direct inquiry where I chose. In this instance, I expect to follow up on my survey, report and recommendations (which resulted from discussions of policy almost as much as from examinations of premises and medical records), and also to keep an eye on certain matters for which I have some professional responsibility. The information in which you have reason to be interested is, I believe, being gathered fairly effectively, and I'm sure that, in due course, it will be reported to you.
