A- Barter Location: General Office Subject: 1990 Air/Noise Sampling Plan: Lake Charles The 1990 Lake Charles industrial hygiene air and noise sampling plans have been reviewed and approved with the following conditions. 1. Any vinyl chloride results above the action level must be re-monitored every 3 months as required by the OSHA standard. (See 29CFR1910.1017.d.2.ii) 2. The rationale for taking high volume asbestos samples in areas that do not require clearance sampling must be discussed in this document. This rationale must include how results from the maintenance and laboratory areas are to be interpreted since the only OSHA PEL is for personal exposure to asbestos. 3. A method for determining TWA exposures to chlorine must be included. This can be a combination of sampling and calculation but compliance with the 0.5 PPM TWA OSHA PEL must be addressed. Please send these changes/clarifications to me when they are completed. A quarterly report should be submitted in March, June, September, and December of 1990 reviewing your progress to date.
