Thank you for your patience. For the most part this has been due to awaiting a communication re garding liaison with the European research program, copy at tached, with the remainder on account of my vacation absence. In acknowledging the August 16th letter from ICI, I have expressed confidence you would find its terms acceptable, but subject to your unanimous concurrence. If no word from you to the contrary reaches me by September 20, I will construe this to denote your acceptance, and proceed with a formal agreement accordingly. Financial commitments to the program proposed for MCA administration are nearly sufficient, with strong interest in some cases for taking full advantage of information from the European program before final confirmation of support. Inasmuch as Dr. Dinman of The University of Michigan is no longer in Europe and hence not available to make liaison contacts there in this connection, some other arrangement will need to be made. (Note especially the last sentence of the ICI letter.) Your suggestions are invited.
