Tate, Hope you had a good weekend! Wanted to circle back and see if you had any potential folks for the State Policy Network Energy Summit on Aug. 28th in San Antonio. Should be a really good event with state based policy groups. Let me know if you need anything additional on our end. Thanks again for your help. Talk to you soon.
Thanks,

Tate, Hope you are doing well and enjoying EPA. I have been keeping up with some of the work you guys are doing through Lee, and it sounds like you have been incredibly busy. I wanted to see if you might be able to participate in an event we are running Texas. We have been working with the State Policy Network and several of

SPN's affiliates on a series of State Energy Policy Summits for the past five years. The summits typically consist of three substantive panels and one Issues Update panel spread over an evening and morning prior to the formal kick-off of SPN's annual meeting.
This year's event will be taking place in San Antonio on August 28 and 29 prior to the opening of SPN's annual meeting on the 29th.
Among the panels will be one on electricity and one on OCS Development. We have secured the Nuclear Energy Institute and Edison Electric Institute to discuss the future of nuclear energy in the US and the integration of renewables into the grid respectively. We have also invited a couple of different groups to speak on EPA regulation of coal-fired power plants (we expect to have this locked down shortly). We will also have a panel on the Trump Administration's energy agenda featuring several officials from DOE, DOI and we are hoping EPA. This panel will take place the evening of the 28th.
We see value for you in this event and the panel on the Administration's energy policy for a couple of reasons, and would request that you look at participating. First, the room is a good one from a policy perspective. We typically have 75+ attend from pro-business and centerright think tanks around the country. These organizations have been invaluable in providing grassroots support, op-eds and other advocacy efforts on a wide range of energy issues around the country once we have gotten to know them. It also will be good for them to hear what you are working on at EPA and why they should (as pro-business groups) care about it. You will also be able to attend the SPN annual meeting if you want to stay down there for an extra day or two and help round out your contacts in this space.
Please let me know if you will be able to participate. If so, I will forward all of the event information to you.
Thanks.
