Clearance, has not been obtained to date for the uncoated duct liner job site (W. B. Silk), and unlined sheet metal site (3. L. Loeffler). Engineering descriptions of the Job sites shell be obtained, including* 1. It was agreed to add flexible duct to the Kettering Study (Responsibility of H. L. Loeffler). WEST COAST PROPOSAL Insulation Study Proposal (Dr. L. B. Grant - coordinator) It was agreed to proceed in accordance with the November 22, 1968 proposal. Duct Systems Study Proposal (Dr. J. L. Konzen - coordinator) It was agreed that the job sites would be restricted to the States of California, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, and Arizona. Job to include the following (complete job descriptions shall be included) no restrictions on filter systems. Senate Bill #234 - will require the use of warning labels on fibrous gless products. It was agreed that the Education and Legislation Committee shall estsb Lish a long range program to combat such legislation. A sub-committee is to be set up to determine the program and its funding. THERMAL INSULATION SOCIETY BEQUEST The request from the Charleston, West Virginia Thermal Insulation Society to have NIMA furnish a speaker to talk on the subject of asbestosis was turned over to the Education and Legislation Committee. SJWIA The situation in Florida, where a contractor changed a specification fr^m rigid board to a rigid round product was discussed# It was recommended that the meeting scheduled by the SMflA *n Miami, Florida, on February 4, 1969, be attended by individual manufacturers and not by NIMA. FM FIRE TESTS C. 2. Ernst reviewed the fire tests that were performed by Factory Mutual research Corn, on fibrous glass rectangular duct systems. C. S. Ernst is to arrange to have FM run calorimeter tests on the four products. Copies of the time-temperature charts are to be distributed to the Committee for evaluation. The technical group is to meet and establish s program that will enable better fire test results to be obtained.
