PRIMARY SKIN IRRITATION AND SENSITIZATION TESTS ON GUINEA PIGS
Procedure: A range-finding study was conducted with 3 male albino guinea pigs to test for skin irri tation potential. A 20% solution of the test material in water was the highest concentration tested due
8^ in irritation potential of the glacial acetic acid solvent. No skin irritation was observed at this level."
The primary irritation test was conducted on 10 unexposed guinea pigs by applying and lightlv rs>nboubiT'aSe9r insvki?n*.5 mi each f a 20% and a 2% (v/v) solution of the test material in water on shaved, intact
1 iwhe ^ndYCti?n p}138 for sensitization was a series of 4 sacral intradermal injections of 0.1 ml of a 1.0% solution in physiological saline, 1 each week beginning 2 d.ys after the test for primary irri-
