RE: Can you help explain the attached
Roger, Jason, I presume your numbers are on. dry FEP basis ?
in 1995 and 1996 we analyzed C-8 in FEP 9302 at the V-disH..
yeart

After that w improved our analytical methods drastically and found

We found it is VERY VBRY important to be in the linear rang of the
BCD detector. We diluted the extracted solutions 200 times to achieve that. An BCD has a rather short linear range. You should check what
it is by making a calibration line* If you are above the linear
range, you will find far too low results, unless you interpolate in
the non-linear area. Also we had a fouled detector, and C-8 wae blamed by some people.
As you can eea the BCD gives slightly lower resulta, probably ther
are still some in-gitu surfactants in the wet fluff, which are eaan
by He-blue but not by BCD. We don't have the variations anymore that we used to see, I don't know why, but there were quite some process

changes since early 1996.
One trick you can do is to reanalyze in a random order, to see if
moment; of analyzing was a factor. good luck, Rik
