The Columbus Partnership is a corporate CEO group focused on the Columbus Region's long-term economic prosperity. We organize and leverage the region's top corporate and institutional leaders to advance our region's competiveness agenda by instilling a culture of collaboration and delivering results in economic development. The work of the Columbus Partnership symbolizes the unified approach of our membership to growing our economy by focusing on the core issues that benefit the community as a whole. At the start of the decade, we launched Columbus 2020 - a comprehensive, regional economic development strategy aimed at maintaining and growing Columbus' strength as a major hub for commerce and business. As a result of our efforts, Columbus is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing cities in the country with record wage growth and world-class innovation. The Columbus Region is home to 15 Fortune 1000 headquarters and countless globally recognized brands. Automotive manufacturing is strong and anchored by Honda of America, and insurance and finance companies like Nationwide and JPMorgan Chase who employ tens of thousands of workers. Dozens of e commerce fulfillment operations have cemented our position as a premier location for logistics operations. The area's strong corporate presence and stable economy are complemented by the youthful and progressive nature that more than 150,000 college students and 60 college and university campuses bring to the area. Columbus is also well known for its public-private partnerships and its ability to deliver on what is has promised to businesses, long-time residents and newcomers. Collaborative intent is fostered by the Columbus Partnership, and this value is 17cv1906 Sierra Club v. EPA ED_001523_00001694-00001 shared between the private and public sectors. I have known Scott since early 2011 when he was the Director of the Ohio EPA. At that time, I was one of the founding members of JobsOhio, the state's new privatized economic development organization. Scott was an active and helpful cabinet member and was a great ally in helping us achieve our economic development goals. My support for Scott could not be stronger. Thank you for your consideration. Very truly yours, Mark Patton Vice President Smart Columbus 17cv1906 Sierra Club v. EPA ED_001523_00001694-00002
