I have communicated the scheduling challenges to Gavin Noyes. As I mentioned, he has been a close personal friend of mine for over 20 years. His focus in this meeting is to educate himself and members of the Indian tribes in the area about the opportunities for uranium remediation through the superfund program. Bears Ears is not on the agenda. Your email address for him is correct. I will also pass along Charlotte's email to him. Thanks again for helping make the connections. Nevertheless, I'm looping in Charlotte who is likely your best hope for connecting Gavin to Superfund experts. Should EPA staff use this email for Gavin: Ex. 6 Thanks, Nancy Sierra Club v. Below, my college friend Gavin Noyes runs through the people in his group. I clarified that they are available on Wednesday, January 31. If you could do the honors of forwarding to your super superfund colleagues, I would much appreciate it. Thank you! EPA 18cv3472 NDCA Tier 12 ED 002061E 00000999-00002 Thanks for your help in trying to set up a meeting over at EPA, and I apologize for the brevity of my emails this past week. I was conducting job interviews for 3 days straight and got behind on other things. I want to let you know that I have informed several of the Tribal leaders that we are trying to set up a meeting about uranium contamination and cleanup, and this is among the highest priority to the local leaders in San Juan County. I probably won't be able to confirm folks, until I know a meeting time on Wednesday, but here is who I am traveling with. 1) Malcolm Lehi, former Tribal Council of the Ute Mtn Ute Tribe. The only operating uranium mill in the United States sits on his reservation about 1 mile from his home and just this past year they had to replace the entire reservation's water supply due to contamination of the groundwater from this mill. 2) Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye. I spoke with the Attorney General of the Navajo Nation this AM and she will see if the President might be able to adjust his schedule to attend on Wednesday as he will still be here. Two other individuals I am traveling with are Davis Filfred, Utah representative on the Navajo Nation council and Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk, format council of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. All are very knowledgeable and very interested in this issue. Feel free to forward the above list of possible attendees and I look forward to seeing you and catching up with you soon!
