Baldwin, as Chairman of the Supply Committee, reported to the Board the following activities of the Supply Committee at its meeting held June 25th*- ' A. The Committee had been requested by the NAPA Detroit office to make a recommendation in the matter of an American Brakeblok . Brake Shoe Exchange Program. The Committee's recommendation was that American Brakeblok should get into the brake shoe busi ness either on an unlined or lined, new or reconditioned basis, this being the first step in any shoe program) also that American . Brakeblok should supply oataloge and price lists for a Brake Shoe Exchange Program. This recommendation was disoussed with the American Brakeblok officials at a meeting held June 25th, which resulted in American'Brakeblok taking the matter under consideration. The Committee's conclusion was that American Brakeblok should supply drilled and countersunk sets to match similar sets supplied by com petitors to the greatest extent feasible. This was also discussed with the American Brakeblok officials at the conference mentioned in the preceding paragraph. '. ( j G. The Committee discussed the survey on secondary brake lining which was made by the Detroit office, and its conclusion was that this survey be turned over to the American Brakeblok Division for study by it. The Committee concluded that it -would be very desirable to have application data printed on American Brakeblok fan/ belt sleeves* This recommendation ms made to the American Brakeblok officials at the conference referred to in Paragraph A above. American Brakeblok promised to put the idea into effect if it can be done ------ jaithont excessive cost. Z'2- The Committee considered the addition of a classification to cover Items such as Monmouth heavy-duty clutch plates and American Braks- blok heavy-duty lining which are now erroneously classified "S" but which do not belong in the regular D, C, B or A classifications* Mo conclusion was reached by the Committee which is to give the matter --further consideration* .......
