Kehoe, Dear Bob: In going over our cost sheets for the tetraethyl lead operation for January, as functioning under the new arrange ments with du Pont, I find under the item of "Overhead", an expense charged directly to tetraethyl-lead for contributions which the du Pont Company make to your laboratory at Cincinnati. If all of the money so contributed is used for work in connection with tetraethyl lead or its related activities, the charge^is entirely in order. However, if seme work is done out of this contribution, which is foreign to the tetraethyl lead picture, there should be some allocation of the expense such that tetra ethyl lead will not bear the full cost. I would appreciate it very much if you would advise me in a general way what the circumstances are, and if in your opinion these contributions should be fully chargeable against tetraethyl lead,'or if there should be some portion charged to the general du Pont overhead which is not applicable to our costs.
