Please note the following changes: Separate schedules are issued for carload/truckload and less-than-truckload (ML) shipments. The base price is increased 4t/lb. For deliveries of LW, LW-S and RPS in the specified western states, the upcharge over base price is in creased from lg/lb. to 4t/lb. for LW and to 3-l/2$/lb. for LW-S and RPS rail slurry. The LTL upcharge over base price is increased from 2-1/2g/lb. to 44/lb. for shipments of five tons minimum but less than 20 tons and from 4-1/2 to 64/lb. for shipments less than five tons. Freight for truckload delivery of slurries is pre paid and allowed up to a maximum of $2.00/cwt. (commodity) for plant shipping points and $1.00/cwt. (commodity) for our Weehawken, NJ terminal. This price increase is needed to recover increased costs of manufacture since our last increase. The major items of cost which have increased include raw materials, labor, oil and other energy sources, and freight and finished product distribution expense. The increase is in compliance with applicable price standards of the Council on Wage and Price stability under President Carter's anti inflation program. To assure our customers' product needs are met on an equitable basis we plan to limit February shipments to 105% of the last 12 months monthly average purchases.
