k,June 1935 Dr Graham Edgar jifihyl Gasoline Corporation Chrysler Building Hew York City New York My dear Edgar* After going over your letter of May 29th anc^^js^cmitnnts with regard to the illness of Mr* Andover, New York as reported by Mi^Muraocic from the Sinclair Refining Company, I find that I have no very useful advice to give, I see no reason for believing that Mr, Wood's illness has anything to do with exposure to gasoline. It does seen quite certain that he has some type of incapacitating nervous system les'on. In order to make a diagnosis, a very careful examination would be required and at this date no useful Information could be gained by analyses* From that point of view, therefore, there Is no point in making any hasty effort to carry out an examination, and It would be my opinion that any representative of the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation should proceed very slowly and be careful not to involve the Ethyl Corporation in a matter which at the present time it does not seem to have been drawn into# It frequently happens that opinions of physicians have been misunderstood and misquoted. As a consequence I should not consider It advisable for us at this end to take any action. Rather I should consider it advisable to find out by such means as are possible what opinion has been given by the doctors in the case. This should be done in such a way, I think, as not to Involve the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation. I shall not make any move in this matter until I hear further from you. Very truly yours.
