SCOPE This standard describes Ou Pont coded gaskets in Tables X, 2, and 3. Obsolete Codes are identified in Table 4. Acceptable materials and vendors for Du Pont Codes are listed in SU2A. Refer to U5A for assistance in gasket selection. 2. GENERAL 2.1 The prefix or initial letter of this Code designates the general classification; i.e., "G" for gaskets and "S" for gasket material in sheet form. The second part of the Code, is an arbitrary designation for identification. 2.2 The following ASTM rubber designations are used in Tables X and 4. CR Neoprene EPDM Ethvlene propylene terpolymer elastomer (Nordel ) NBR Nitrile butadiene rubber NR Natural rubber SBR Styrene butadiene rubber Caution; On drawings specifying Du Pont Code numbers, reference should be made to SU2A which can be sent to Du Pont contractors to show accept able materials and vendors for each Code number.
