Dear Mr. Pruitt, I see that you have now joined the camp of those who see global warming not as an exi stential threat, but as a beneficial occurrence with a 1ot of upsides for civi 1ization. You suggest that "global warming may not necessarily be a bad thing." (Feb. 7, 2018). You seem to believe that this will boost productivity and enhance opportuni ties for the pianet and its populations. Is thi s based on any parti cular insi der knowledge that you have as the head of the EPA? Do you have any sci enti fi c evi dence to support thi s poi nt of vi ew? Are there analyses upon whi ch you are drawi ng that suggest that on bal ance global warmi ng is benefi ci al? Or are you inventi ng thi s as a way to sidestep your responsi bi1ity for combatti ng human induced global warmi ng and the profound threats that it poses. Are you seri ously unaware of the geopoli ti cal destabi1izati on that will result from global warmi ng? The consequences of ri si ng sea 1evels that will inundate the ci ti es in whi ch hundreds of mi 11 ions of peopl e live? The droughts that will cri pple agri cultural producti vi ty in some of the most fertile farmi ng areas of the pi ant? The water cri ses that will grow out of a heati ng pianet? Do you genui nely beli eve that pianetary warmi ng will have benefits that outweigh these catastrophic disasters? Can you possibly be this ignorant, short-sighted, and grotesquely incompetent.
