We discussed the discovery of the state listed endangered species, false mermaidweed, and how the proposed restoration may or may not affect the plant. Originally the conceptual plans suggested excavating another channel to mitigate the flow intensity close to the culvert under Higganum Rd, however, we decided it might not be necessary anymore, and that we did not want to disturb the False mermaid - weed. We discussed the stream restoration, reiterating the need to raise the stream bed to reconnect the floodplain to the stream channels. I observed fish in the stream. Mr. Ott said that sometime in November they will come out to the site to do cross sections. We discussed the different areas where fill will need to be removed. Closing Conference Documents Received and / or Requested During the Inspection I requested an updated restoration timeline for the plantings and stream restoration to be submitted to EPA for approval. EPA requests for the different consultants to coordinate on an updated wetland restoration and planting plan and stream restoration plan to submit to EPA before any earth work begins.
