Kehoe Kettering Laboratory of Applied Physiology College of Medicine Eden Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio. Dear Dr. Kehoe: Attached hereto are copies of letters from the Atlantic Defining Company and Mr. Shank concerning a case of alleged lead poisoning. I notice they did not give the names of the- doctors who are treating "but if you feel this informa tion is necessary, I shall he glad to obtain it for you. Very truly yours, SWj GCL Enclosure Ri 0021890 Baltimore, Maryland September 2, 1S37 Mr. J. C. Taylor Atti Mr, 0. B. Lewis Dear Sir: Attached hereto is a letter from the Atlantic Refining Company and a copy of my reply thereto. There is a peculiar coincidence in this, inasmuch as it was at this same plant that we last year had a report of supposed lead poisoning on the part of the truck driver handling Atlantic White Flash and Atlantic Ethyl. On different occasions, Mr. Mason, Mr. Andrews, and Mr. Cole and I have all talked to Mr. Stinespring, and I do not believe he is under the impression that he has lead poisoning, as we were pretty careful to explain to him that it was not acquired by spilling gasoline on one's self. However, in view of the fact that Atlantic is so cooperative along safety lines, I believe it would be a good, idea if either you or Dr. Eehoe would make some recognition of this letter and let them have whatever reply you think the case warrants. Yours very truly (S) L. W. SHAM K& 0021891 N22802.01 -entenber i ft - sr, J. Brooks Greenwood, Atlantic defining Coaptaiy, first National Bank Bldg., Charlotte, Uorth Ocrolim. Bear l'r. Att'n - Mr. L. v/. Shank Gentlemen Being unable to locate Mr. Mason, and pass this information on to him, I felt it would be of interest to you. Mr. w*1 conducts our business at Greenville, S. C., recently spilled some White Flash Gaso line on his foot. The shoes were perforated and gasoline evidently dropped into a crack in the skin or a blister and rubbed it in and he is presumably suffering from blood poison ing. I do not want you to feel that I am trying to diagnose this case, but he is being treated by two doctors in Greenville and felt you would want to look into the matter and possibly make some recommendations as to the treatment of this case.
