Failure to prepare and deliver the 2023 CCR to your customers and send a copy to this office by July 1st is a violation of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWR) according to 40 C.F.R. 141.152-155. The requirement to distribute CCRs to your customers is a cornerstone of the public-right-toknow provisions of the SDWA and serves as an important avenue to promote public involvement in decisions that relate to the quality of their drinking water. If not done already, please take the following actions: (1) Prepare the 2023 CCR for your system and distribute it to your customers as soon as possible. If you are unsure how to complete your report, you can find more information on developing a CCR on EPA's website at https://www.epa.gov/ccr/how-water-systemscomply-ccr-requirements or call our CCR Rule Manager for assistance at the number provided later in this letter. (2) Submit a copy of the report to EPA (Attn: CCR Rule Manager) as soon as possible using one of the methods listed below. Please include your PWS name and PWS ID# on your submission. You should be aware that repeated violations of the NPDWR may result in formal enforcement action taken against your water system. If formal enforcement action were to be necessary, the Safe Drinking Water Act provides for civil penalties of up to $67,544 per day of violation. We prefer to resolve problems before such formal enforcement is necessary, and we ask for your cooperation to rectify them quickly and effectively.
