We appreciate your serving as a principal investigator for this unique project in Shanghai. We have considered your request for additional support, and are pleased to report that we are prepared to offer additional funding, in the amount of $6,559,864. It will be necessary to have agreements executed and in place before the actual commitment is finalized and disbursement of funds begins. [CORRECT AMOUNT?] We assume the substantive provisions of our original agreement will be a part of subsequent contracts necessary to enable completion of the study. We are also providing separate and additional funding for QAlQC, as was outlined in your original proposal. As you have suggested, Dr. Jerry Rice, chair of the Scientific Review Panel for the study, as well as other colleagues, have agreed to assist in this effort. We assume the supplemental QAlQC plan, as developed by you and the Data Process Quality Assurance team, whose charter is attached, will be implemented. Please contact us if either of our assumptions is not correct. We would also appreciate receiving your contract proposal, as well as agreements with the University of Colorado and Fudan University.
