Director Industrial Bio-Test laboratories, 1810 Frontage Hoad Northbrook, Illinois 600$2 Inc. Dear Otis: This letter will authorize you to proceed with a study with the leghorn chickens with the Aroclor 1242, lot number AL-55. This should duplicate the study you did previously with Aroclor 1242, lot number AK-255, except in this instance you have suggested using dietary levels of 2, 4, and 9 ppm. This sample of Aroclcr represents our current regu lar production which involves some -lean-up insti tuted since the previous sample was made available to you. We would hope that we might find a higher "nc effect' level with this sample as compared to the previous work. As soon as suitable reference standards are available, the research laboratory in St. Louis will more care fully characterize the two samples in terms of possi ble minute amounts of contaminants. Best personal regards. Sincerely "Sfmer P. Wheeler Manager, Environmental Health f12212 WATER PCB-00045682
