Choleic i I don't know whether you're to give the answer on this but you'll notice that I have sent copies to other people, which I hope will mean that the right person will get my question, I've been working up some of the preliminary pages that must precede the text of the Lead, report. For -instance, we'll have to have a title page and a copyright page and I think it would be highly desirable to have a Preface. I have put in ths little piece of historical matter that I could gather from the preceding report. I don't know enough about the matter of determine lead, in sir and so 1 couldn't make any profound philo sophical statement concerning the importance of these methods. The first edition of the report did not have any Preface covering the subject. Anyhow, here is the Preface I have prepared. I would appreciate it a great deal if you would add, deletej comment. Th9 First Edition of Methods for Determining Lead in Air and in Biological Materials was pre pared by the Subcommittee on Chemical Methods of the Committee on Ventilation and Atmospheric Pollution of the Industrial Hygiene Section in 1944. F. H, Goldman, Ph.D. was Chairman of the Subcommittee* Ibis edition of the manual represents <i$ complete revision of the original, the general organisation has bean retained, so those who are familiar with the original report should have no difficulty in locating corresponding .sections in this report. The introductory statements have been modified to express current theory, knowledge and practice.
