Dear Partners:
I am pleased to announce that Aaron Keatley will be joining us as the Michigan DEQ's Chief Deputy Director, effective June 4, 2018. Aaron is originally from southwest Michigan. For the last 25 years, he has worked for the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection. During his career in Kentucky, Aaron served in several policy and leadership positions for the department that included remedial work in their underground storage tank program, regulation and policy development for their Division of Waste Management, enforcement of Kentucky's water programs, and development of Kentucky's compliance assistance and brownfields programs. He was the department's Deputy Commissioner for five years, and over the last two years, he has been the department's Commissioner, responsible for all the state's environmental programs ranging from air to water. Aaron is looking forward to returning to Michigan and is excited to join our team at the DEQ. All six programmatic divisions as well as the Administration Division and tribal liaison will be under the leadership of the Chief Deputy Director.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 517-284-6712.
