No. 291 - 1951 April 24 JOSEPH H. REID ELECTED A COMPANY VICE-PRESIDENT ' Joseph H. Reid has been elected a vice-president of the_ Company. Mr. Reid began his Company career in 1927 with the St. Louis Smelting and Refining Division as a mining engineer. He was transferred to the Baroid Sales Division in 1936, where he became production manager. Mr. Reid came to the Company's general office in New York in 1941 and in 1947 was made chairman of the mining committee. In December of the same year he became assistant manager of the Titanium Division and in 1949 was appointed manager of the division. He was elected a director and member of National Lead's executive committee in February of last year. Mr. Reid is also a director of Titanium Pigment Corporation. PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED IN BAROID SALES DIVISION R, C ,, Marr has been appointed manager of the product procurement department of the Baroid Sales Division. Mr. Marr joined Baroid in 1936. In 1943 he became assistant division manager. Gulf Coast Division, and two years later was named manager of the transportation department. In addition to assuming his new duties, Mr. Marr will continue to have general supervision of the transportation and testing equipment departments. James J. Doyle is the new purchasing agent for the division. Mr. Doyle started his Baroid career in 1939 as a chemical engineer. Following World War II service he became a development engineer and in March of last year joined the field service division as an engineer on the Gulf Coast. Floyd T. Gregory has been named manager of transportation and testing equipment departments. Mr. Gregory entered Baroid service in 1946 as chief clerk of the departments, and became assistant manager last year. Edmund L,, Mohr has been appointed general superintendent of the Pacific Coast division of Baroid. Mr. Mohr was first employed by Baroid In 1941 as a well logging engineer. He worked for several years as a field service'engineer, then became superintendent of Districts No. 53 and 54 for Baroid in 1947. THOMPSON AND DAVIDSON IN PAINT PRODUCTION POSTS Lloyd A. Thompson has been appointed paint production manager of the Company. Mr. Thompson has been in charge of paint production activities since February. He was formerly production manager of the Pacific Coast Branch, having started with the Company in 1924 as a chemist in the San Francisco paint plant. S. L. Davidson has been placed in charge of the paint development laboratories at the Perth Amboy paint plant. Mr. Davidson started with the Pacific Coast Branch in 1943 as a chemist.
