Y. 10 Minutes lite 1951 Annual Council Meeting o f the National Safety Council was held in tins Grand Ballroom o f the Slovens Hotel, on )ctober 8, with M r. Ned H . Dearborn, ^resident, presiding. Following tiic singing of the National Aithem, the invocation was offered by tlte Reverend Kenneth N . Hildebrand, Minister *f the Central Church of Chicago. After appropriate opening remarks, Presi dent Dearborn turned over the chairmanthip of the meeting to Mr. Citarles It. Cox, President of the Kcnnccott Copper Corpora tion, and Chairman of the Board of Di lectors of the National Safety Council. After a brief but sincere expression of his fundamental interest in Iltc Council and |he safety movement, Mr. Cox proceeded with the business o f the meeting by an nouncing a quorum present, in person or by proxy. It was voted to dispense witii the tailing of the role; also to dispense with Ihe reading of the minutes of the previous Annual Meeting, the minutes having been printed and circulated to the membership. Mr. Cox called for the report o f the Nominating Committee, which consisted of ihe following members: George A. Jacoby, Chairman; Lawrence E. Dickson; W alter G. Lcggc; Miss Marion E. M artin; Guy L. Moble; Robert T. Ross; anti W. A. Stewart. Mr. Jacoby roijorlcd in behalf o f the Nominating Committee, pointing out that the Constitution authorizes the committee to name candidates for election to the Trustees, |o the Board of Directors, ami to all Offices txcept the office of Executive Vicc-PrcsiIcnt.
